Baptiste Herbin is a French saxophonist, born on 17 October 1982 in Paris. He is considered one of the most talented young jazz saxophonists in Europe, known for his virtuoso playing and his ability to seamlessly blend different musical styles. Baptiste started playing the saxophone at an early age and was mostly an autodidact. He lists jazz music greats such as John Coltrane and Sony Rollins as his main musical influences. Baptiste's career began in the mid-2000s when he resided in New York and performed with legendary trumpet players Wynton Marsalis and Roy Hardgrove, as well as at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Baptiste Herbin is the official ambassador of the musical instrument brands Selmer and Vandoren and has participated in the development of new instruments. He regularly performs in Europe and worldwide, teaches saxophone and gives masterclasses. Herbin is currently one of the most innovative and influential saxophonists in contemporary jazz music.
